Our Mission
Konpa Akademi is a non-profit local music school dedicated to nurturing the musical talents of our community's youth. Through our comprehensive curriculum and expert instructors, we aim to provide a vibrant and enriching musical education that inspires creativity and passion.

iASO Cultural Foundation empowers under-served Caribbean youth to cultivate their artistry, grow as community leaders, and to be ambassadors of their musical traditions. Through programs like Academia de Bachata and Konpa Akademi, we engage children in the Dominican Republic and Haiti in free, intensive instruction in the traditional music of Latin America and the Caribbean. Our teacher training and scholarship programs transform talented students into the next generation of professional instructors, building capacity for the future.
Konpa Akademi was founded by its director Emmanuel Civil, in partnership with iASO Cultural Foundation.
iASO Cultural Foundation provides ongoing funding and operational support for the Konpa Akademi.
